Notes of Interest:

Home Sweet Home:  Nashville Superspeedway is the “home track” for Brentwood, Tenn.-resident Burney Lamar.  Additionally, his sponsor, Dollar General, is headquartered in nearby Goodlettsville, Tennessee.

Nashville Stats:  Four starts, one top-10 and three top-15 finishes.  Lamar has completed 99.9% of laps (899/900 laps).

Tune In!  Lamar will be joined by fellow Nationwide Series drivers, Scott Lagasse and Brendan Gaughan on News Channel 5’s Sports Plus on Wednesday, June 3rd from 8-9 p.m.

Dollar General Race Day:  Dollar General will hold its employee “Race Day” on Thursday, June 4th at Dollar General headquarters in Goodlettsville, Tennessee.  Burney and wife, super model, Niki Taylor will sign autographs for employees from 12-12:45 p.m.

Red Cross / Tornado Relief Fund:  NASCAR, Nationwide and Nashville Superspeedway are working together to help further the relief efforts surrounding the April tornadoes that struck Murfreesboro and the surrounding areas.  Lamar will sign autographs at the Nationwide display on Saturday from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.  Donations from fans will be accepted for the local Red Cross.

Burney on racing at home in Nashville:

“I’m looking forward to getting back on track at Nashville Superspeedway.  I definitely feel like I have some unfinished business here from April.  Nashville is home for both me and my sponsor, Dollar General, which is headquartered in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, so this is always a special track to race at.  Not only is this my home track, but I really love racing here.  It’s a fun track that I have always run well at.  I anticipate we’ll get dialed in quickly and have a great race!”

Equipment Information

The No. 32 Dollar General team will compete with chassis #BR024 in this weekend’s Federated Auto Parts 300.  Chassis #24 was last on track at Dover International Speedway (May 2009).  With Brian Vickers behind the wheel, the No. 32 Dollar General team started seventh and finished fourth.

Did You Know…?
Burney Lamar resides in Brentwood, Tennessee. Some of his off-track hobbies include mountain biking, working out, cooking, and flying (airplanes, that is!).  Burney started racing go karts at age five and has competed in the Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series, Camping World West Series and AutoZone Elite Division Southwest Series.
